Your Comments:Wow! I was at Bonnie Brae 79-80. I,ve never truly wanted to remember much about that time. I see now that the things that went on during that particular period (which I won't go into) were an aberration. I was in Kiwanas until we all moved to Osborne just before the fire in early 1980. I always was aware of the fine history of the place and this site is certainly a pleasant surprise. I have a box of photographs from my time there though I seemed to have focused on the then abandoned summer camp and the girls who then attended day school ;-) Take care and keep up the great job!

Your Comments:Bonnie Brae from 1952 to 1960, always will remember the time on the farm. Funny, one of the classes I'm taking now, I have to put down were I was brought up, what memories I have. I could have printed the Web Page and gave it to them instead of writting the same thing. Anyone still remember "OSCAR". What about sneaking down the fire escape to go to a party and sneaking back up listing to our feet break through the crust of snow and thinking we got away doing it. We didn't, house parent seen us go down and stay'd up until we all climb back up. How did I ever get a nick name of Mouse Ron

Your Comments:I would like to share a little of my life after BB with You all.I organized the last BB reunion, held in Daytona Beach, Fla. about 6 years ago. About 25 people attended, and the alumni was mostly from the 35 - 46 era. A great time was had by all! It was particularly touching to see Don Bowe, Bob Leslie, Ray Hess and wife, Herbie Dahl (Hey Herb!!), Pete Cahajla, Ray Dixon, and my brother, John Verge. Also Joe Bags, Milton Vanderstihl. If I have left anyone out, please forgive me. Since the reunion, a few of us have passed on: Don Bowe,Ray Hess,Ken Hess,Doug Fleming,Ray Dixon, George Paik. May all of you rest in peace. You will never be forgotten. I came up from Florida to visit my son in 1995 and haven't returned yet. I live about a mile from my son (he is typing this for me, thank god!!), and I am proud to announce that I am a brand new grandfather to a beautiful baby girl named Jaqueline Lorraine!! What a joy!! My companion Jean and I like to sell odds and ends every other week at local flea markets. We have a little white dog, a laphsa aphsa, named sally. In answer to some of your inquiries about the farm when I was there, it seems alot different now then when I was there. WE WERE ALL BROTHERS!!! If you asked one BB boy how many brothers were in his family, he would answer: 85!! We were a tight knit bunch of guys.... When we went to High School we were the best dressed, best behaved, and Best atheletes there were!We were PROUD TO BE FROM BONNIE BRAE!! And the feeling still carries on...Even though I have experienced more than my share of personal tragedy, God has blessed me with a wonderful family and friends. That's all I have to share for now, I hope to hear from some of you soon. God Bless!!

Back to Bonnie Brae Alumni.
